Welcome to Ruth's Ringing Record, my first blog. I have recently attained my 'C' permit, which (for those readers who are not bird ringers) allows me to ring independently, whilst still under the remote supervision of my trainer. Excitingly, this means I can now ring the birds in my garden, find new sites to ring at and undertake my own ringing projects. This blog will be used to record my ringing activities, both for my own benefit and for the interest of anyone who takes the time to read it.
I have a feeling that the next few months and years are going to involve a rather steep learning curve but I can't wait to get started. All I need now are some rings, nets, poles, traps and birds!
I hope you will enjoy reading the blog as much as I know I'm going to enjoy writing it.
